Karen Lancaster - Mayor Administrator

Karen Lancaster

Karen Lancaster’s life exemplifies her calling. “It’s all about meeting individual needs in a dignified manner,” says Karen. When visiting The Farms at Puryear’s communities, she can often times be seen tending to a resident who simply needs an extra blanket or who wants a hand to hold as they stroll to the lunch on the garden patio. As a registered nurse Karen learned first-hand how to provide extraordinary direct care to her members as well as how to lead a team of front-line colleagues. As a Director of Nursing, Karen embodied the ideals of the profession with a compassionate heart. As a licensed administrator responsible for overseeing SNF and ALF operations, she has developed a depth of operational understanding unseen in the industry. Caring, Committed, and Compassion are her mantras.

When she isn’t working Karen enjoys listening to Irish folk music and traveling to see the artists wherever they are performing. One of her favorites is Daniel O’Donnell.

Ashley Herbst, Director of Human Resources

Ashley Herbst

Director of Human Resources

Ashley is fueled by her passion for understanding the needs of the ever-evolving people industry. She received her degree in Marketing and Human Resources but considers herself a “forever-student”, eager to learn and build upon her academic foundation. Her hunger for knowledge and determination have contributed to her most recent success with Tennessee Valley Authority, Target Corporation, and now The Farms at Puryear. By focusing on the team first, Ashley has been able to implement award-winning retention strategies for a large national corporation. Ashley strives to model her career after this quote, “With confidence, you have
won before you have started.”

When Ashley is not in the office, she loves to spend time with her family (the feline and canine kind, too). She loves the creativity of interior design and loves helping others create a suite home where they will love life for years to come.

Aidan Scott, JD, General Counsel

Aidan Scott, JD

His desire to learn and excel with whatever task lies in front of him has also lead to leadership positions in the Syracuse Environmental and Energy Law Society and Journal of Science and Technology. While embodying the spirit of a generalist has allowed Aidan to represent clients in their controversies with the IRS, he has also developed a background in business valuation and family law. Now Aidan seeks to bring his adaptability and prowess to Urbane Healthcare so that the company can continue to bring inspired, and unique experiences to their members and families.

Outside of the work environment, Aidan spends his time hiking trails through Middle and East Tennessee. He loves being on the lake and spending time with his friends. With soccer being Aidan’s largest passion, he is thrilled about the new MLS stadium being built in Nashville!
